Setlist

Sooner Than You Think, Subculture, The Village, The Perfect Kiss, Lonesome Tonight, Bizarre Love Triangle, State Of The Nation, Age Of Consent, Ceremony, Love Will Tear Us Apart, Blue Monday, Temptation

Soundcheck (25 minutes): State Of The Nation, Love Will Tear Us Apart (bass), The Perfect Kiss (synth)

Rhythmic pre-gig music fades out as Bernard takes the stage.

Sooner Than You Think

BS: "Hello, everyone, we're New Order. Took us a long time to get here but we've gotten in."

"[Thank] you very much."

Perfect Kiss

BS: "I need a [can't make out] on stage."

"Thanks very much"

(edit can be heard between this song and Lonesome Tonight)

Bernard's a bit rusty on the lyrics.

(another edit, tape mix sounds different...louder and harsher, and audience can be more clearly heard. It's Dolby B NR, as well)

BS: "You tell us what you want us to play and we will play it"

Somebody close to the mic yells "Everything's Gone Green" Bernard replies, "I'll play it later on". Not in reference to EGG, since it doesn't appear.

Bizarre Love Triangle

Has different lyrics and lyrical melody. This is the third time this has been played live.

State Of The Nation

BS: "We'll play another song you don't know, it's called State of the Nation. Or maybe some of you do know it."

More yelling for Sunrise and EGG.
original venue before moved to
Queens

Age Of Consent

PH: [unintelligable]

Ceremony

BS: "We're gonna play some of our old songs now...cuz you know that [can't make out a couple of phrases]...each and every one of you."

"Thank you very much."

Love Will Tear Us Apart

"This is a very, very old song. I've never played it live before in  Ireland"

The whole audience sings the chorus. Huge wails of feedback, must have been mayhem.

Bernard thanks everyone.

(edit into encore)

Blue Monday

Starts out with Hooky bass solo, neat. Then the motor beat kicks in.

BS: [unintelligible]  (probably something about not normally doing encores)

Temptation concludes the set.

Irish Radio aired an interview with the band before they took the stage, which also includes Ceremony & LWTUA.  The date is most certainly wrong on this.

Sources

AUD #1 - Five track which cuts out right when Bernard states "You tell us what you want us to play and we will play it"

AUD #2 - Complete recording, average quality.

About 15 minutes of the souncheck was recorded, not sure if it's related to AUD #2 or should be its own entry.
